Shin-Etsu manufactures sealing materials designed for applications including the curtain walls of buildings, home exteriors, and bathroom and kitchen interiors. In addition to silicone sealing materials, the Shin-Etsu Group also deals in modified silicone sealants and urethane sealants.

Coatings Materials

These one-component silicone coating materials were developed for surface waterproofing of concrete, mortar, metal roofs and the like. After application, they bond to the substrate to form a durable coating with excellent weatherability.

Penetrating Water Sealant

The main ingredient of these sealants is silane polymer. Applied to concrete, mortar and other inorganic structural building materials, they penetrate deep to form a long-lasting seal that prevents absorption of water. Our lineup includes products for general purpose use and for use to prevent seaweed growth.

Construction Admixtures

Shin-Etsu admixtures are used extensively to improve the workability and adhesion properties of building materials including cement mortar, tile cement mortar, spray coatings, extrusion-molded cement items, plaster, joint processing agents and wallboard adhesives for gypsum wallboard, and fiber reinforced cement.

For Plasterwork: hi-Metolose®

Shin-Etsu's hi-Metolose greatly improves the workability and moisture retention of gypsum plaster and is thus used extensively in plasterwork and tile work. It is commonly used together with mortar primers in thin coating application methods and tile facing in all areas of architectural finishing.

Corrugated Sheets

Shin-Etsu corrugated sheets are functional materials for exterior use. They are easy to work with, attractive, and allow you to light your space with soft, natural light.

Polymer Panels

These decorative exterior wall panels are made of rustproof, corrosion-resistant polyvinyl chloride (PVC). They have high shock resistance and are lightweight, so they put no strain on existing walls.

Rest Room Products

Shin-Etsu Units is our group company that specializes in rest room products and total coordination of restroom spaces. Their lineup is centered around toilet stalls and restroom interior systems that address the various issues involved in restroom construction. Shin-Etsu Units' products have been installed in restrooms nationwide with great results.

Vinybran wallpaper surface processing agent

This new deodorizing wallpaper processing agent was developed by Otsuka Chemical and Nissin Chemical. Their goal was to create a product that provides chemical removal of formaldehyde-a cause of "sick house syndrome" in new houses-and acetaldehyde, the main component of tobacco odors.

Polyvinyl Alcohol for use as a building material (Poval)

Poval is a water-soluble resin that is used as a binder for plasterboard and joint mortar.

PVC pipes and fittings are used in water supply and sewage systems, and are a vital part of our lives. Our products are designed for diverse applications including plumbing, wastewater facilities, agricultural irrigation and industrial pipe lines.

Asuka-Clean underwater non-separating admixture

When ordinary concrete is used underwater, the materials separate, not only reducing the strength of the concrete but fouling the water. Cellulose derivatives can be used to increase the viscosity of raw concrete and prevent separation of its component materials. They can be used without reducing the strength of the concrete or fouling the water. In recent years cellulose derivatives have been playing a role in waterfront development projects including bridge construction and embankment projects.

Natom-Clean dust reducing agent for sprayed concrete

In one method of mountain tunnel construction, concrete is sprayed on as the excavation progresses. This dust reducing agent adds viscosity to the concrete to reduce the dust created during application.
